I pretended for far too long that my life was perfect.
While we all say we know ‘no one is perfect’ the thing is, we believe others are perfect.
So why do we believe that?
Because of people like me and the person I was 2 years ago (yeeeeep)
Portraying to the world that I lived in a perfect bubble.
The perfect home, the perfect relationship, the perfect business…
But that was so far from the truth.
I was riddled to my core with depression and an anxiety disorder.
I’d fall asleep wishing that I wouldn’t wake up.
I was unable to leave the house and do basic tasks like grocery shopping.
For months I kept this extremely close to my heart because I was deeply ashamed and embarrassed.
How could someone like me, the yoga teacher and energy healer be suffering to the degree I was.
How could the ‘expert’ with an incredible amount of knowledge of the body, mind and spirit be drowning in a dark murky pit.
I never, ever, wanted to admit that the world I’d sworn by for a decade wasn’t working.
I could no longer keep up with the daily 101 rituals that were consuming my life.
I was exhausted from being told that my desires would never come to fruition if I wasn’t digging deeper into my wounds.
I spent days laying on my couch in a state of paralysis unable to think clearly.
It was while laying in the trenches of spiritual burnout, that I had a revelation.
The self development and spiritual books that had been collecting dust on my book shelf – not once had I reached for them.
The books that I believed were medicine to my soul no longer held the answer I needed.
I grabbed them off the shelf, threw them into a box and removed them from my home.
I’d taken a step that day that felt different to any other step I’d taken…
I broke up with the self development world.
I finally drew a line in the sand and said no more.
It ends here.
And it did.
But life didn’t end.
It began.
A healing journey unlike no other.
Psalm: 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”
What I tried to heal within my own heart for 10 years, He healed immediately.
Not through anything in my power but His.
Yes, Jesus.
I turned to Him because He was the only thing I hadn’t tried.
He was the answer.
Not religion.
Him.
The One who had never left my side.
The One who never gave up on me.
The One who never stopped at the opportunity to reveal Himself to me.
Even when I didn’t know Him.
During my darkest days, I look back and there He was.
Patiently waiting until I realised that I could no longer live without the anchor of my soul.
And that’s what He continues to do.
Heals the untouched rooms of my heart and soul.
The places that were unbearable to look at.
The pieces that I was never able to put together (no matter how deep I dug)
But God.
And he doesn’t stop.
Not becuase of anything that I do but because of His plan for restoration and everlasting peace for our souls.
May you come to know the anchor of your soul my love.
He wants to heal your heart.
Will you let Him?
Big love
