As humans we tend to overcomplicate most things in life, including prayer.
Prayer is sweet and simple.
A conversation with God.
Yet in our humanness we often pray like we speak to humans.
A watered down conversation of what we think the other person wants to hear and not what is truly on our hearts.
We pray as if there are thousands of pairs of ears listening in, as if we need to sound like a best selling poetic author, but there is only one set of ears listening…
And that’s God.
He already knows what’s on your heart and what you really want to say.
He’s just waiting for you to say it and keep the conversation going.
Yes, YOU keep the conversation going.
Conversations with God do not end because of Him pulling away from us.
The conversation ends because we decide to stop talking.
So often the prayer ends or doesn’t begin, because of the beliefs we’ve become accustomed to.
He doesn’t want to talk to me.
He doesn’t have time.
He doesn’t hear me.
He doesn’t answer my prayers.
Your relationship with prayer will reveal the maturity of your heart.
How many times has your heart closed down because you assumed that your friend who you txt didn’t want to talk to you because they didn’t immediately reply?
How many times have you not opened the conversation with your spouse because you believed he didn’t have time?
How many times have you felt the call to voice what’s on your heart yet you end up saying nothing because you believe no one hears you?
When did you decide that you would stop asking for the desires of your heart because you’re still waiting on the ones you haven’t yet received?
He wants to hear about it and He never wants you to stop talking to Him.
Big love
